National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS is committed to partnering with the Air Force and the workforce at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) to drive the change necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Complex while ensuring mission success: no impact to customers, no loss in data quality, and no reduction in productive test time – ultimately securing AEDC's long-term future and world-class superiority in aerospace and flight testing.

NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Instrument Technician to join our team at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.

Job Duties:  Under general supervision, calibrates and repairs various instruments for electrical and mechanical measurements. Modifies, fabricates, maintains, repairs, and calibrates a wide variety of mechanical, optical, electrical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic indicating and recording instruments and precision measuring equipment used in aeronautical tests and research activities and in plant control.  Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting activities required to service discrete and digital logic instrument control systems.  Connects instruments to computers and recording devices. Adjusts and calibrates instruments as directed and adapts them to new or extended uses.  Assists in servicing and adjusting computers, microprocessors, and peripheral devices.  Installs and adjusts instrument optical systems; troubleshoots and maintains instruments, instrument systems, computer, and recording devices.  Uses a wide variety of instruments, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.  Works primarily in a laboratory or field environment.  Assists in training lower-level technicians.  It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.  Performs other related duties as required.  Supplementary Functions: Participation in functional specific safety training.

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Educational Equivalent:  Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Specific Knowledge or Experience:  Four (4) years of progressive experience in technical instrumentation with six (6) months schooling in electronics or instrumentation field.  In-depth knowledge of operational characteristics of laboratory test instruments.  Knowledge of operational characteristics of an instrument calibration/repair laboratory.  Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and maintain access to the AEDC local area computer network.
  • Licenses/Certifications:  Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Communication Skills:  Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions.
  • Current United States Citizenship required.
