National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS is committed to partnering with the Air Force and the workforce at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) to drive the change necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Complex while ensuring mission success: no impact to customers, no loss in data quality, and no reduction in productive test time – ultimately securing AEDC's long-term future and world-class superiority in aerospace and flight testing.
NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Operating Engineer to join our team at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.
Under general supervision performs technical, mechanical, electrical and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an engineering test facility; prepares plant equipment for operations; troubleshoots equipment in case of malfunctions; operates plant equipment during tests; installs and maintains facility systems; accomplishes maintenance and servicing as required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation; uses a wide variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring and testing equipment, instructs less experiences lower grade craftsmen. It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Performs other duties as required. Must be available to work any shift.
Participation in functional specific safety training.
: Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent.
Specific Knowledge or Experience:
Four (4) years of experience as an operating engineer in the working section of an aeronautical test facility operation. Progressive experience in the trade may be substituted for the required experience. Progressive experience is defined as a mechanical background supporting large plant systems such as boilers, chillers, compressors, etc.; large hydraulic systems with operating pressures above 1500 psi; high and/or low pressure process control valves; evaporators; and/or compressed air or water systems. Working knowledge of computers is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and maintain access to the AEDC local area computer network.
Valid State Driver’s License
Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions.
Current US Citizenship required.
