National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Safety and Health Specialist to join our team at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.
Provides safety and health consulting support to assigned Branch and to SHE Branch.
Integrates safety issues and requirements into all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate safety engineering principles into scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving and maintaining compliance with safety requirements.
Provides safety training as needed.
Provides New Hire Orientation for SHE as needed.
Manage Mishap Investigation, SHE Corrective Action, and SHE Assessment processes.
In concert with SHE Manager and AEDC Chief of Safety, work to develop NAS specific SHE procedures.
Work with area personnel (craft and supervision) to develop and implement safety improvement/process tools.
It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
Perform other related duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health and 7 to 10 years of progressive and relevant experience in a Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene function or any equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant experience.
Current U. S. Citizenship is required.
Previous government site experience to include DOD, DOE, or COE.
Familiar with OSHA and ACGIH requirements
Recognized professional certification is a plus.
Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.
