 This opportunity is being offered by National Aerospace Solutions, the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee.  National Aerospace Solutions is a limited liability company comprised of Bechtel National Inc. (as lead company) and Sierra Lobo Inc. with teaming Subcontractors nLogic Inc. and Chugach Federal Solutions Inc. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization and an important national resource.

AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, ground, and flight test.  Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will perform varied professional accounting or financial work requiring the standardized application of well‑established principles, theories, concepts, and practices. Make day‑to‑day decisions concerning the treatment of financial transactions. Is expected to recommend solutions to complex problems and to propose system changes for approval at higher levels.  Develop sound, practical solutions to a wide range of accounting and financial problems where guidelines are well defined.  Assignments require regular use of resourcefulness and independent judgment. 

Job Duties:
  • Maintain varied accounting and/or financial records. Ensure established controls are followed and processing transactions as directed.
  • Develops non-standard reports and statements. 
  • Interpret and point out trends or deviations from standards.
  • Analyze accounting or financial data. Prepare routine working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries indicating extent of examination.  Present and support findings and recommendations.
  • Evaluates information and /or data drawn from current files and records to prepare reports drawn on this information.
  • Examine a variety of recording and reporting documents and summaries to verify accuracy and conformance with specific functional, corporate, contract, government or professional accounting requirements.
  • Reconcile reports and financial data with other records on file.  Point out apparent inconsistencies and errors.
  • Prepare or review routine summary reports and/or financial statements.
  • Maintain assigned segment of financial, accounting, or timekeeping, records and processes transactions.
  • Carry out assigned steps in accounting, systems, or financial analysis.
  • Prepare routine working papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries indicating extent of examination.  Present and support finding and recommendations.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and 3 to 5 years of progressive and relevant experience in core accounting processes or any equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • Current U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of and successfully demonstrated experience related to:
    • Professional accounting and/or financial concepts and principles.
    • General business practices.
    • Controller organizational structure, policies and procedures.
    • U.S. government, Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Skill in analyzing and problem solving techniques as applied to accounting.
  • Excellent skills in working with and communicating effectively orally and in writing with internal and external personnel.
  • Very proficient in computer applications and common software products.  Able to develop spreadsheets with formulas, macros and ad hoc report writing.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle Financials, and PeopleSoft Financials.
