Open to external candidates only.  The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will function as a O & M Specialist in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) function supporting Operations and Maintenance.  Specific duties include providing classroom and hands-on instruction on basic principles of hand soldering.  

Job Duties: 
  • Provide classroom and hands-on instruction on basic principles of hand soldering:
    • Soldering Basics, electrostatic discharge, Metal, component identification
    • IPC Class 2 Workmanship Standards
      • Through-hole and surface mount (SMT) soldering
    • Instructions and demonstrations with real-time instructor feedback
    • Teach how to solder components in place to create a functioning project.
  • Create Training Packages
    • Organize and maintain solder training kits containing a ground plane for each participant.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in soldering.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with working with various craft skills and specialized tasks.
  • Knowledge of all AEDC craft skill sets, specialized skills, and jurisdictional guidelines as required to perform different work tasks, including any specific skills related to work being planned.
  • Knowledge of AEDC industrial work processes, facilities, and equipment.
  • Able to work self-directed with limited daily oversight.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, motivation, and organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with craft personnel, craft superintendents, engineers, vendors, management, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical data, including any applicable mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation drawings, schematics, diagrams, or blueprints, equipment manuals, specifications, vendor information, technical instructions from engineers, etc.
  • Ability to perform an analysis of the cost (man-hours), best methods, and steps required to perform craft work within a structured budget.
  • Ability to learn and apply maintenance and reliability best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC systems and office software applications, including Email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, MS Project, Primavera, etc.
