National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for a ID&C IT Hardware/System Administrator to join our team in Tullahoma, TN.

Job Duties:
  • Responsible for administration of computers and networks used to provide Instrumentation, Data and Controls (ID&C) services to Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) operations.Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria. Supports the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.
  • Perform work, generally within Computer & Network System Administration, which involves the design, configuration and maintenance of computer and network operating systems.
  • Participate in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
  • Participate in one or more of the following:
    • System administration duties for sensitive and unclassified test network and computer systems.
    • Configure systems for various test programs based on information sensitivity of each specific program.
    • Plan, design, install, secure, maintain, monitor, track, and document responsible Windows and/or Linux/Unix based computer workstations, servers, and network hardware.
    • Maintain system and information security based on government and DOD regulations. Evaluate and install security directives and mitigation actions.
    • Implement Information Assurance software patches
    • End user support including computer network, server, and desktop support of ID&C software and configurations
    • Manage user accounts for ID&C software and systems supporting testing and test assets
    • Support new system design and development activities
  • Participate in incident investigations as required.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
 
Grade 32: B.S. degree in a computer science, information systems, or other related technical degree and a minimum of 0 to 1 years of related experience.
Grade 33: B.S. degree in a computer science, information systems, or other related technical degree and a minimum of 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must meet the following minimum competencies:
    • Proficient in Windows and/or Linux/Unix server administration.
    • Possess practical experience with system administration duties to include: installation, configuration, security, troubleshooting, monitoring, upgrading, and patching.
    • Have or be able to obtain a Security+ certification within 6 months of hire/promotion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AEDC Computer System Administration requirements
  • Active DoD security clearance
  • M.S. degree or post-graduate coursework in a relevant field
  • Industry certifications related to computer system administration (i.e. Windows, Linux/Unix, Security +, etc)
  • Familiarity with turbine and rocket test cells, wind tunnels, space chambers, and/or arc heater facilities
