National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Job Duties:
  • Responsible for supervision of assigned ID&C personnel and meeting the mission requirements assigned to the TOS contract within either the PWT or the VKF Test Facilities in the Flight Combined Test Force (CTF).This position will include extensive coordination within the Flight CTF and across all AEDC CTF facilities.Extensive and effective coordination will also be required with other supporting contract and government organizations from time to time.Planning and reporting within the Flight CTF and TOS contract is required. Successful candidate will frequently interface directly with assigned government managers in the Flight CTF and Flight CTF Representatives in the Test Information Systems Section (TSDIB) in accordance with project requirements and organizational leadership direction.
  • Line management of a team consisting of approximately 30 instrumentation, controls, software, and network engineers, system administrators, and technical specialists.
  • Management oversight of facility and test ID&C systems in the assigned Flight Test Facilities.
  • Management of ID&C engineering tasks for the assigned Flight ID&C team; assist and monitor related work assignments.
  • Lead and support operations planning/work coordination activities including interfacing with internal/external customers and support organizations.
  • Develop and coordinate schedules with various test teams.
  • Provide input and support to the Enterprise Systems and Project Management Groups to aid in planning and implementation of long-term goals for sustainment and improvement initiatives.
  • Support execution of capital improvement and maintenance projects by providing technical oversight and engineering labor support
  • Effectively coordinate test operations and equipment maintenance activities with government CTF and Test Information Systems (TSDIB) Asset Managers, from an ID&C perspective.
  • Support development, tracking and reporting of contract and CTF ID&C related metrics.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related scientific discipline from a regionally accredited college or university (ABET accreditation preferred) or a minimum of 11 years of applicable and progressive experience along with a sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant general engineering or appropriate engineering disciplines to meet job requirements.
  • Direct knowledge of test support ID&C systems, operations and maintenance, preferably in support of wind tunnel ground test operations.
  • Experience in the basics of supervision and workforce management, including work planning and monitoring, cultivation of productive working relationships, and ability to solve staffing problems and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated adherence to safe mission practices.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management concepts and terminology.
  • Highly effective at written and oral communication and group presentations.
