National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS is committed to partnering with the Air Force and the workforce at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) to drive the change necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Complex while ensuring mission success: no impact to customers, no loss in data quality, and no reduction in productive test time – ultimately securing AEDC's long-term future and world-class superiority in aerospace and flight testing.

Job Duties:
  • Serves as the visible leader for Design Engineering providing guidance to Engineering, Engineering supervision, Drafters, Planners, and Product Quality.
  • Responsible for strategic planning and advocacy for right-sized capacity of the Group.
  • Responsible with insuring projects have current status and proactively addresses constraints to meeting schedule and product commitments.
  • Responsible for actively forecasting the workload and skilled resource management.
  • Responsible for skills development of Design staff.
  • Prescribes roles and responsibilities for management team.
  • Assists the Branch Manager in achieving collaboration goals with the Manufacturing Group and other Groups within the Branch.
  • Creates, reviews, and monitors metrics, and influences and changes processes.
  • Makes trade-space decisions on in-house and outsourced work.
  • Ensures conformance to established safety practices including SSHA’s.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the work environment is aligned to produce a design of the appropriate quality, cost and schedule.
  • Approves or delegates approval for salaried employee timecards.
  • Supports hiring decisions.
  • Supports discipline actions.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, physics, engineering or business and 11 years of progressive and relevant experience.
  • Skilled at personnel relationships and written and oral communication
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice of industry-accepted safety practices.
