NAS currently has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Capital Projects Manager to join our team in Tullahoma, TN.

Job Duties:
Under the guidance and direction of experienced Capital Project Mangers assist in completion of all or portions of the following tasks below. Assigned projects may be of limited scope and moderate complexity or supporting more senior level Capital Project Managers on large and complex projects.
  • Support assigned projects by providing leadership to scope, estimate, execute, and finish capital improvement projects.
  • Performs cost and performance measurement analysis against planned and estimated scope.
  • Monitors budget and forecast against funding requirements and schedule performance.
  • Supports assigned projects providing leadership of NAS teams to assist in ensuring project completion in a safe manner, within budget, and on schedule with assistance from more senior level Capital Project Manager.
  • Facilitates the collection of project requirements, objectives and customer expectations, and clearly communicates this information to project teams.
  • Assist or provide oversight of projects at the workforce level that may include instrumentation, data acquisition, process control, mechanical systems, structural systems, utility systems, facilities, horizontal structures, dams, equipment, and computer systems.
  • Provides input to investment projects as requested including SOW, estimates, progress reporting, and performance monitoring
  • Prepares and executes Project Plans using cost, schedule, and performance objectives, resourcing, verification and validation and risk management
  • Assists or oversees in the review and approval of project controls plans including trend/change control programs, project cost estimates, forecasts, schedules, and financial reports and may review commitments that exceed assigned budgets. Periodically reviews change order controls to assure that all changes are being handled appropriately.
  • Oversees the administration of subcontracts to ensure that the terms and conditions stated therein are fulfilled.
  • Conducts periodic project and customer meetings to review progress and discuss project issues. Ensures problems involving coordination, schedule, and the setting of priorities are resolved by the project teams.
  • May be required to provide guidance to other personnel during assignment to a project.
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate codes, standards, and regulations (including those for environmental work).
  • Facilitates or directs the preparation of progress and special reports to customers and NAS management.
  • Promotes and practices team building across the project.
  • Supports the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university and 4 – 6 years progressive and relevant experience in an engineering or related technical field or any combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in project planning, cost and schedule development, and execution support.
  • May require EVMS expertise as directed by the Government.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to their successful conclusion.
  • Ability to anticipate change and to adjust promptly and effectively.
