National Aerospace Solutions (NAS), LLC is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment activities at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, Arnold Air Force Base, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. NAS is committed to partnering with the Air Force and the workforce at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) to drive the change necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Complex while ensuring mission success: no impact to customers, no loss in data quality, and no reduction in productive test time – ultimately securing AEDC's long-term future and world-class superiority in aerospace and flight testing.

The Opportunity
The successful applicant will be assigned to work within a multi-disciplinary team involved in the research and development of advanced aerospace measurement and diagnostic systems and techniques. The near term work focus is development of digital imaging systems to understand the in-flight characteristics of flight vehicles, specifically rocket propulsion systems.
Job Duties:
  • Assigned to a team of engineers focused on the development and integration of the Joint Standard Instrumentation Suite (JSIS) and all associated instrumentation and network system software.
  • Responsibilities include supporting the development of software tools related to the data acquisition systems used in conjunction with specially designed hardware supporting the AEDC test mission.
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation and technical briefs
  • Responsible for submitting equipment requirements in a timely fashion to ensure continuity of operation.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college/university with a significant focus on Computer/Machine vision.
  • Familiarity with version control software (GIT, Mercurial, SVN or Subversion, etc.) is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a real-time distributed network programming environment
  • Experience with embedded software/hardware is a plus
  • Experience with development software such as Python, OpenCV, C, Java, C# and MATLAB is desirable.
  • A background with interfacing computers to laboratory grade hardware is also a plus.
  • Useful skills include systems engineering, software design principles and data reduction/data analysis.
