Job Duties:
- Support any Mission Execution area by evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Perform work which requires advanced stress analysis of critical components in aerospace ground test facilities, often in support of component design
- Develop advanced stress analysis techniques
- Perform finite element analysis for structural, thermal, and dynamic loading
- Support computational fluid dynamics efforts that include structural modeling for test facilities
- Support design group to provide review checks of analysis work
- Perform work which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features; supports the Computational and Facility Engineering Development function with deploying and adhering to common engineering work processes throughout the TOS contract
- Assist with the development, implementation, and execution of common work processes and procedures within Facility Technology across the TOS contract
- It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
- Perform other related duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of three to seven years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience
- Current U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering plus at least one year of practical experience
- Experience with the following:
- Finite Element theory and application (ANSYS)
- High and low cycle fatigue, high stress and strain, and modeling analysis and modeling
- Non-linear modeling and temperature dependent non-linear material behavior
- NSMS and strain gage data analysis
- Dynamic data analysis, FFT, and frequency domain analysis
- Fracture mechanics
- Must be able to communicate clearly and use various methods of communication
- Active Secret Security Clearance
